Otago Aero Clubs new sports aircraft is now online!!
Exciting news. The Rans S6 is now in our possession and online waiting for our intrepid aviators to take her skyward.
If you dont have an S6 Rating, or indeed a microlight certificate, then get your lessons by calling Al Wright (027 434 0169) or Joe Calder (021 247 3232).
We are charging a flat rate of $120 per hour for both dual and solo.
If you have always wanted to fly but didn't think you could afford it, here is your golden opportunity.
Book the aircraft on the aero club booking system www.yourorganiser.com.au. You will need to confirm your booking and get flight authority from Al or Joe prior to taking the aircraft.
Flying doesn't come much cheaper than this so make the most of it.

Aviation Gateway program
In term 2 and/or term 3 of 2012 the Otago Aero Club in conjunction with the ATTTO and local secondary schools will be running the Aviation Gateway programme. This is an exciting opportunity for the club and students alike. Students will be offered the chance to join the scheme through their school. This is a 10 week course that will earn credits towards a National Certificate in Aviation (introductory) (Level 2) and will give the students an honest up front experience of several aviation based careers. Students will get a years membership to the Otago Aero Club, their log books and the first 3 lessons towards their Private Pilots licence as part of the course.
Otago Aero Club Junior Flying Scholarship Winners
The Otago Aero Club in association with South Air Ltd held a prize giving lunchtime BBQ at the club to announce the winners of the scholarship. A big congratulations to Henry Tilson and Annalese Lapwood for taking out the respective male and female spots. Both Henry and Annalise have won flying hours to first solo stage, club membership, a CAA logbook, and a Class 2 medical courtesy of Dr Robert Morton. Subsidised flying was also awarded to Corban Phillips and Campbell Angland because they showed a real passion for aviation and demonstrated great attitudes during both the flying and the interview.
